103 Shows!
December 12, 2001
WEEdEN performed this evening to a huge crowd at that cool bar known as MoMo's Club here in Austin.
It was great getting a response from the crowd like this; chanting for "WEEdEN" to come back for an encore.
Alex, Chris, Sam, and I were all there playing a full hour of original tunes of WEEdEN.
It was great seeing many of our friends in the house to party with us.
Del Castillo closed the show with their grooving latin rhythm and sound.
This was one of the more enjoyable performances that we have performed in a while.
The energy was high for all to share.
Thanks to Paul, Barry and everyone else at this great club.
What a night!
What a way to close out this wild year!

WEEdEN performed this evening at the brand new club now known as The Red Room for their Grand Opening on 6th St. here in Austin.
Alex, Chris, Sam and I played a great set of original tunes to a huge crowd.
This new club, with it's dark red motive, also has a dark sound with not too much high end.
The band Pure followed our show with their set of original tunes.
It was great throughout the evening running into great friends such as; John Noterthomas, "Uncle" John Turner,
Alan Haynes, Dan Sheridan, Dean Seltzer and many more I forget to name.
We look forward to returing to this club...and it was an honor being the first band to hit the stage in this new venue.

WEEdEN performed this evening at the Austin Music Network video filming held at Jovita's here in South Austin.
Alex, Chris, Sam and I were were there taking the stage, fourth in line, with many acts on the bill which included...
1.) Jimmy George Project, 2.) David MacDougall, 3.) The Alice Rose, 5.) David Holt & Crystal Butterfield,
6.) Idgy Vaughn & Bonafide, 7.) Curtis Cole & the Diamond Ears, 8.) Natalie Zoe & Malford Milligan,
9.) Household Names, 10.) Sarah Loy, and the headliner, 11.) Jimmy LaFave.
This was a benefit to raise money for the Doug Sahm Clinic, Medicino.
Shandon Sahm, son of Doug, was there to talk about this charity organization that takes care of ill musicians.

WEEdEN performed early this morning on Austin's Rock radio station, 93.7 KLBJ FM on the Dudley & Bob Show.
WEEdEN performed "Jeanie" and "On Your Own", which are both on WEEdEN's latest c.d. release, Orange Whip.
Alex, Chris, Sam and I were all there in spite of the terrible morning traffic jams in this little town...

Dan Sheridan performed a great show this evening down on 6th St. at The Vibe here in Austin.
Lance Armstrong, Jason Bryl, and I were all there to support Dan as the band.
This was a show with a rather, nice, large crowd.
Texas Bellaires opened the show; Haymakers went second, with Sundowner closing the show after our performance.
This was an evening that was not as cold as it has been the past few evenings, which made it pretty nice, since this club has an outdoor stage.
Thanks to all that were there hanging out to check out the show.
I had a great afternoon hanging out with John Ike Walton, the infamous drummer, running around town, peeking into all the corners for the thrill.
This was another great day full of fun in Austin.

WEEdEN performed this evening at the Speakeasy.
Considering how cold the temperatures were in town tonight, we were surprised to see the great turnout.
Alex, Chris, Sam and I were all there to play a rocking two hour set of original tunes.
Sapphire opened the show with her unique voice and guitar playing.
Jeremy was there with his alto saxophone to help Sapphire create a cool vibe.
I even joined this pair onstage to support them with a lil' back beat on the drums for two songs...real cool.
Thanks to Sound man Steve for the great time.
This was a great evening at this nice club...infamous for all of it's famous guests.
It was great seeing many friends in the audience as well...
Stephen Doster...one of the best guitarists I have ever shared the stage with...was also there to have a few drinks with us.

Checkerd Past performed this evening at the Barbwire Saloon in Manor.
Dianne, Robert, Louie and I played three sets of cover / original tunes at this friendly neighborhood bar.
Thanks to MaMa for letting us grace the stage of her club.
This was a great time...all off the cuff...being the first time I had ever played with this band...no rehearsals...just get it and go.
It was also a pleasure having guest vocalist Lisa on stage with us for two tunes....what an unique vocal sound.
Hopefully I will get to work with these guys again in the near future.

What a night to remember...strange things happen in strange days.
Alex, Chris, Sam and I were all there to rock a full two hour set of original tunes with a handful of covers.
Suprisingly, there was a nice large crowd hanging out for this great acoustic-like set...low volume...great grooves...
The rain was unbelievable...I heard that 14" was the total...sounds like this one was for Osiris.
A night to remember...a Wet Night at Waterloo.

Dean Seltzer performed near the University of Texas campus this evening for a party at the Beta Theta Pi house.
Rene Herrera, Matt Wilson, Dave Bigsby, and I were there to support Dean as his Redneck Mothers Band.
The night was great as we rocked out side on a deck surrounded by sand...that now is everywhere.
This was a great time...all the young little hotties and their counterparts...
Thanks to all the guys at Beta Theta Pi...we appreciate their enthusiasm in assisting carrying all of the band's equipment.

fraternity.
This was a great evening that turned out to
be a great party and great show.
Rene Herrera, Matt Wilson,

The crowd
was huge and crazy...drinking all the kegs dry under this huge tent.
What a pleasure it is rocking and rolling for a group of
young partying college kids.
I'm sure we will do more of
these shows...let's just hope that Matt can walk
away from the keg with out tripping, face first into the beer...hahaha.

Trio performed this evening at the Manchaca Fire Dept. Hall for a
benefit.
Marty Christian, Dwayne "D-Madness" Johnson", and I performed a short
set, of 4 tunes, that was a psychedelic bluesy jazzy acid funk...you name
it...we threw it all out.
This was recorded on to two
track, live...hopefully this set will be available real soon for all at MP3.com.
There were many bands in front of us and behind us...with
two stages exchanging artists throughout the evening.

us...not to mention the one blues tune that we performed with Shelli on lead vocals...wow!
This was my first time to perform with Dean and the band...and it was all off the cuff, since
I also had never rehearsed with the band as well.

5K Andale Marathon event held at the Killeen Mall.
Heather was joined onstage with her boys, listed as J.C.George, Dave Baxter, Al Kentfield and myself...what a crue.
This was a great morning event that was also very patriotic
considering the tragedy earlier in the week.
What a
treat to see the little girl all face painted in red, white and blue walking
aroung with a homemade t-shirt that reads,
"My Daddy
will fight to defend your Country"
Chuck Barnes enjoyed performing this evening to a
private party, wedding reception.
Chuck was joined on stage with Craig Shroer, J.C.George,
Al Kentfield and myself.
This was a good time...Chuck
has a great voice, and Craig and Al work together well while J.C. and I hold it down to the ground.

Kevin, Cole & Ryan of Dewato and many more I forget to name.
The crowd was nice and large.
Nevertheless, this was , once again, a great evening

greatest "sounding" rooms I have ever drummed in...the entire ceiling is tin
roof tiles...with a huge ceiling height....great!

playing to a great crowd for a private party at the Salt Lick BBQ House.
It was
a great time with all our new friends.

cause.

On my way out the door, packing up my drums, I
spoke briefly with good friend Omar Vallejo of the
band, Vallejo.
It is great runing
into friends in strange places...
I then had to boogy on
back to A-town to make it to W.6th St. in time for my next show.

The crowd was nice and responsive to the 45 minute set.
Dan had Jeff Settle, Jason Bryl and
myself all there in support.
It was all, a good time.
To end this evening, rain came blowing through as I was
packing to head home...soaking my drums...giving them a well needed wash!

WEEdEN rocked out
this evening at the Waterloo Ice House
at 26 Doors.
Alex Weeden,Chris Kline, Sam Arnold
and I were all there to rock out the tunes.
There was a
great small crowd at this show.
We even had a few guests
on vocals as well...
Chris,
Sam and I opened the show with some of Chris' originals...which was all, off the cuff...a
great time.
WEEdEN had another
great show...once again...it is a pleasure rocking with these guys.

Trio enjoyed rocking the entire evening out at the River Place Country
Club for a beer tasting good time.
Marty, Brandon Gonzalez,
and I performed three sets of original tunes.
The third
set was the blow out!
Considering the entire
neighborhood lost electricity for a few minutes...
a
great time for the drum solo...
We then all relocated to
a private house for another set of covers and originals.
What an evening!

in San Antonio.
It was a hot afternoon, and Heather was hot as well...

performed to another huge responsive crowd at this great festival.
J.C.George, Dave Baxter and I were all there backing Heather.
What a great day.
The "pool therapy" was Dave's
idea...and boy, did I need it.
Once again, memorable
experiences...good times.

Austin.
J.C.George was on
bass.
Al Kentfield was on
pedal steel.

was on electric guitar whle I laid down the back beat.
We performed two sets of covers and originals changing out
vocalists throughout the evening.
It was great having
the chance to be "House" drummer for the evening.
It
makes it challenging...one has to be on their toes...
The crowd was nice and large with the dancers having a
blast.
What an exciting time!

special guest, Sarah Sharp, on backing vocals; Jeff Settle on guitar; Jason
Bryl on bass while I laid down the beat
It was great
seeing Sarah dancing away on stage...what a lady.
It was nice playing this fabulous venue...the sound on
stage is incredible at this club.
The crowd was
responsive to the tunes we performed.
This was another
enjoyable experience.

- Up's in Manchaca.
"Lost"John Casner had Charles
"Boomer" Norman, Gerry Burns, and I all there to
back him up.
It was a pleasure playing with these
guys...especially Gerry's upright bass...what a
great sound.
We performed two great sets of originals
and covers to a great crowd.
David Allen joined us onstage to play fiddle...excuse
me...violin...for a few tunes.
This was a great evening
as we all celebrated the birthday of a late friend.

Waterloo Ice House
at 26 Doors for the Happy Hour.
Marty Christian, Brandon
Gonzalez and I enjoyed playing two great sets of originals and covers to a
nice friendly crowd.
This was also Brandon's first time
to gig with the Marty Christian Trio.
This
was a great time playing a soft, volumed gig at this heavy intersection of 38th
& Medical...near all the medics.
We then packed our
bags and headed south for another adventurous evening at The Old Alligator Grill.
Marty Christian, Sam Arnold an I rocked 2 heavy sets.
This entire performance was also recorded via ADAT.
Hopefully there is something worth keeping and releasing
out on c.d. to the masses.
I look forward to hearing it
all.
Nevertheless, this was another great evening.

This was a special evening considering it was my 30th
Birthday party.
Marty

ROCKED, to a full house.
I
was fortunate enough to have my Mother, Aunt and Cousin in town visiting for
this event.
It was great having so many friends in the
house as well.
Kevin Christopher Brown joined us on stage for 3
tunes...a little tribute to Bob Dylan...it was great playing those songs
again.
What can I say...I am speechless...

John Casner
performed this evening at the Benefit Showcase for James Henry.
John had Craig Shroeor, Charles "Boomer"
Norman, J.C.George, and myself on stage to help
raise money for a great cause today at Outlaw's, a nice huge place, in Liberty Hill.
James Henry, a lengendary club
(Henry's) owner from
Austin, has been diagnosed with a form of caner.
This
fundraiser brought out the true spirit and nature of how music brings
miracles.
There were so many musicians that turned out
to help support this cause.
I feel honored to even have
shared the stage with many of these names, let alone meeting and talking with
each one of them.
A true pleasure...
Junior Brown, "Son" Geezinslaw, Cornell
Hurd, Tony Villanueva (Derailers), Don Walser, Big Iron,
Dale Watson, Roy Heinrich
& the Pick Ups...and so many more that I forget to name were all there
as well performing...
This was a true experience...one that
I will never forget.

Austin.
This evening was an event.
First of all, I was going to be drumming all night long
with this band; collectively known as 110 In The Shade.
J.C. George was on bass.
Al Kentfield was on the pedal steel.
Dave Baxter was on electric
guitar.
James Casner opened
the show with a set.
"Lost"John
Casner (no relation to James) followed with a set.
Heather
Wiley then took the stage for a great set.
Then
it was time for Kevin Smith to do his thing.
The crowd was huge and responsive.
The dancers were great...the ladies were all looking
good.
There were many musicians in the audience,
including; Chris Wall, members of Reckless
Kelly, Mark
Ambrose, Kevin Christopher, and many
others I forget to name.

this evening in Ft. Worth at Woody's Tavern Sports Bar.
This was a great evening and a good time.
Eric Heard opened the show with
an acostic set of his originals.
Chris Kline joined Eric
on stage, helping out on the electric guitar.
WEEdEN then hit the "stage", and performed a hour
set of rocking original tunes from Orange Whip?.
Alex Weeden, Chris Kline,
San Arnold, and I all rocked the WEEdEN tunes ... rocking hard!
The crowd was very responsive in this huge bar.
Following the WEEdEN set, Eric, Chris, Sam, and I all got on "stage" and switched instruments
to perform a plethora of cover tunes in a half ass manner....fun times.

an early show this evening at Schlotzsky's, Bun Run Registration Party.
All went well in this short, rocking set...considering we
were having electrical problems early on.

Marty opened the show with an
hour set of originals and covers with vocals on his acoustic while Sam and I were across town doing the WEEdEN show.
When Sam and I arrived, we joined Marty on the veranda to perform two sets; the first
being easy, the latter being funky!

Day Celebration.

release party concert at Lucy's Retired Surfer's
Bar on 6th St. here in Austin this evening.
Alex Weeden, on vocals and
guitar, had a band onstage that consisted of...
Chris Kline on the keys and back vocals...Sam Arnold was on bass and back vocals...while I
drove them home, on the kit.
WEEdEN performed most songs from the album in this kick
a** hour set.
It was great playing at this club
again...it has been years.
The crowd was nice, huge and
responsive...
It was great seeing all our good friends
out in support...Jengurl, Dewato, Philo, Active Radio, and many others were all there this
evening in the crowd.
The
Gardners followed with a great set that even included "Locomotive Breath" by
Jethro Tull.

I also got to see, opening the show, Dallas' Speedtrucker rock our their "cow-punk"...what a
treat seeing Lucky Lyndah on the groovy bass...How
many ladies do you know that can play the bass this well.....not many...
This was a drunk fest backstage with the keg...

It was a pleasure playing with Jengurl again...it has been at least a year since I
last drummed for her.

WEEdEN performed songs from the new c.d..
St. Arnolds Brewery, out of Houston, TX, provided the FREE booze.
It was a nice
crowd hanging around for this show.
Penny Jo Pullus, Dan Sheridan, Ted Roddy, Shawn Lucas,
were amongst the crowd, in support of Alex.
The set was tight and short. Look

Laurie Markvart had an incredible recording session
these two days.
Tim Gerron
(Bjork, David Bowie, Paula Abdul) egineered and produced this one tune,
"Love Get's in the Way"
down at The Music Lab (Oltorf)
.
There was a group of "stinky" boys joining Laurie in the studio.
Arron Barrera (Active Radio,
Abra Moore) was on electric guitar.
Kelly Smith (Active Radio) was also on guitars...both electric
and acoustic.
Shawn Lucas
was on the four string bass.
Ray Stucker (Copy Cats) was
on the trumpet.
I was on the drums with brushes and
"hot rods".
I have to admit that Tim got the best sound of my drums that I have ever had
in any studio!

What an evening!
The Broken
Spoke was the place to be... for the 4th Country Jamboree.
First on stage this evening was, "Lost" John Casner.
Heather
Wiley went to the stage next.
Kevin Smith was next in line.
Chuck Barnes was fourth.
Chris Wall closed out the evening.
The house band consisted of J.C.
George on bass, Dave Baxter on guitar, Al Kenfield on pedal steel, Craig Shroer on guitar, while I was the drummer for the
entire evening at this jamboree.
This was a night to
remember...considering it was my first time to ever play this infamous honky
tonk.

This was one of the best performances that I have seen
Heather give...she is a beautiful soul. Bo's Barn is, by all means,
one of the coolest road side joints in Texas.
Look for
Heather to be performing again at this infamous
watering hole. I give a big cheer to the little Italian restaurant, Pietro's, where I enjoyed a
fabulous dinner...the fettucini alfredo was excellent...thanks to Cassie, my waitress, for the prompt service...I will
return.
