It had been years, since those hazy days in college at U.N.T., since my great friend, Ed Jarusinsky, had seen me drum with another band.
It was also cool having other friends there that simply enjoyed the groove that Nicole and her boys had going on.
Thanks goes out to all the sexy dancers that boogied down on Nicole's last tune "Woman 7".

I was there with my guitar and vocals to assist Nicole for this event.
This was
the first time that Nicole and I had ever performed
as a duet...and we both had a blast!
It has been many
years since I jumped on stage with a guitar in hand instead of sitting behind
the drums...so, I had a great time!
Patrice Pike followed performing to a huge crowd
that was there to see her for her 33rd birthday celebration.
Nicole and I even had the
honors of playing "Happy Birthday" for Patrice as she walked into the club...all impromptu.
Wayne's Donkey hit the
stage next leaving the final performance to Darrell
Phillips and his band.
A special thank you goes out
to all of our friends that showed up to support live music in Austin.

I also had the honor of singing backing vocal
harmonies...which was a challenge...drumming at the same time.
There were two bands that followed us; Slowtrain, which is a great little band!...and Stephen Miller, is that really his name?...sorry, I
missed hearing this guy.

This was a
private celebration...a roast...in honor of the Lieutenant Governor of Texas...David Dewhurst.
We performed a full set of original jazz standards for this
elite crowd as they gathered before dinner in the cocktail ballroom.
This was great jamming with these two great guys once
again.
I think the funniest thing was when some guy
asked if he could take us home... with him!
I had the
comeback line of them all...
"Only if YOU wear the lingerie..."
...he then barked, with the typical..."Smart A**!"....
Weak.
Just don't disturb the
groove, man.

hanging out in this great dive bar.
The three of us
performed two solid sets of original tunes.
It was cool
seeing a college friend of mine there in the crowd...it has been too long Dave.

Casey Just performed three shows this day
throughout Texas!
Gary Feist
and I were there as the rhythm section.
This whole day
was planned by the infamous, Guy Schwartz of the New Jack Hippies...he was a blast!
Hey GUY!...Thanks for putting us up for the evening.
First, there was the venture out to Galveston Island for
the Mardi Gras!
The Balinese Room is where we started the day a
little after the noon parade.
This place is
incredible!
There is so much history in this fine retro
club.
Thanks to Scott Arnold
for showing us his awesome club...what a treat.
Here we
performed a full set of original tunes to a fine festive crowd.
It was fabulous seeing my parents there for this event.
Next, we journeyed back into
Houston to get on the "airwaves".
Earthwire.net is a great site that supports
great music...and we got the invite.
So we set up all
our gear in their studios amongst all their computers and servers...a crazy view
seeing all kinds of musical gear amongst high-tech gear...wild!
So, we performed a few tunes that were broadcast onto the
world wide web.
I was told it sounded great!...It was a
great time...thanks to Michael Farber and Sandy Hickey for making us feel at home.
Finally, we finished off the
evening at the Cosmo's
Cafe down in the Heights of Houston.
This was a
blast!
The New Jack
Hippies opened the show while we got "prepared"...with food and
booze.
Then we hit the stage and rocked a full hour of
tunes for this huge crowd!
I then had the honors of
being initiated into the New Jack
Hippies!
I joined them onstage for their second
set and had a wonderful time drumming with these great musicians.
It was great seeing all my family and friends...it was all
a great time...a full day...wow!

Casey Just performed this evening at Trophy's here in Austin on
South Congress Avenue.
Gary
Feist and I were there to back up Casey for the
evening.
Doak also sat in
with a harmonica on a few tunes.
This was a great
evening overall, in spite of the small crowd...we rocked!
This is usually the case...the smaller and more intimate
the crowd is, the better the show is as well.
Thanks to
Tori behind the bar for making our evening a little
more exciting.

This evening
I was called out to drum 'a la jazz at the Hideout for the reading of
poetry hosted by Tori Willis.
I was there onstage with Curtis
Wayne on the bass and Jason Fritts on the
saxophones.
We were improvising music for the
night...having a blast...as each poet came up onstage to say their poetic
spill.
There were some great readings of humor and of
serious issues...a real treat...plenty to chose from.
Candace Bledsoe, Ivanho, Ron Horne and many more were all there as poets.
This was a great evening of laughter and thoughtful
emotions.
I had a blast...especially "knocking on the door" during Ron's erotic poem...someone had to stop 'em before It
"got out of hand"...hahaha.

Marrilisa performed this evening at Austin Street Live in downtown Seguin.
Tanner Swain, James Wagner and I were all there to support Marilisa as her band.
This was
a treat, considering I had never met, let alone jammed with any of these
musicians prior to the show.
It was all off the cuff!
I had a great time!
Marilisa called me with Steve
Styxx's referral...I said sure when I found out she knew Teri Owens and Mary Ann
Price...what a small world.
Anyway, this was a great
evening...Marilisa is a great singer and
performer...with a neat twist...a very unique lady.
Swingin' and groovin' all night long was a treat.
James' key playing was
fabulous...and so was Tanner's groove on the
bass.
Hopefully I will have the chance to do it all
again.
A special thanks goes out to Kenny Postalwait for showing us a great time there in
Seguin.
Soilita's was a nice
mexican restaurant...I got stuffed.

material...and a lot of energy.
There was a private
party ( Dell ) being held there as well, so the crowd was awesome!
This made it even better.
Thanks
goes out to Arron for getting us a great sound out
front.
I really enjoyed rocking out between two huge
walls in this nice courtyard...the sound was incredible.
I hope to do it again...as I am sure we will.

excellent show.

Casey Just performed this evening at the Watertank here on the North
West side of Austin.

Feist, Derek Silverman and I were there to
support Casey as the band.
What can I say...this was a blast.

There was a nice crowd of
friends in town for this event...as well...it turned into a party!
This was a blast...
Earlier in the
evning I had a great time at Steamboat
across the street from Ego's.
Steamboat
hosted Gruene With Envy's annual Texas Music Awards.
This was a
crowded scene with soooo many people in one club it was ridiculous...but I was
there in the middle of it all drinking some beers with great friends.
I was there to support Todd Phelps, and
Dave Lytle.
It was all
agreat evening.
I had my great friend, Derek Silverman, the keyboard player on Corey Feldman's tour, running the roads with me all
evening...getting a great glimpse of Austin!
I'm sure he
has been blown away...Goodbye Hollywood!
