One complete set later, we thought we
would call it an evening after shedding 10 lbs. each.
The Mediterranean food was great at this nice lil' cafe.
I want to thank all the staff for making our night
great.
This also happened to be my 33rd birthday celebration.
Thanks to Nicole, lil' Betty Homemaker herself, for actually baking me the
best chocolate cake I have had in years.
We tried to eat
it all, but the other food had already weighed us down.

performed this evening down in Kerrville at the Hill Country Opry.

Let me tell you how much of a treat it is to be onstage
with a legend like Johhny!
All night long I was ear to ear with a huge
smile...enjoying all of it...trying to absorb it all in!
We did two full sets of Western Swing standards with a few
of Johnny's originals as well as a few of John's original tunes.
Thanks
goes out to all of the people that were there for this event...a small crowd is
the best!
It is unbelievable that this style of music is
even still being played in concert...let alone even being played at all anywhere
anymore.
Johnny and his
Texas fiddle and mandolin playing are treasures!
On a
side note...I have a mandolin and there is no way I can do some of the stuff Johnny does...he is incredible with a mandolin...by the
way a tough lil' instrument to play.
I guess the treat
of it all is when Johhny signed my Bob Will's and the Texas Playboys: The Last Session!
L.P. vinyl collection.
I hope that in the near future I
will have the chance to jam with Johnny and John once again.
Playing with
John is always a blast...but playing with Johnny is a mind blow!

This was a
party...a wet one at that.
I drove through the hard rain
to make it to the gig on time.
The rain eventually
stopped allowing us to get onstage and rock out a full set of original and
selected cover tunes.
This day turned out to be really
great in the end.
I drummed my butt off trying to keep
up on my first gig with this band...by the way, I did pretty well.
The party ended up lasting all night long with many other
bands taking the stage following our show.
Eli & Young Band, No Justice, John Price and Reckless Kelly
all rocked out in that order...what a day / night!

private breakfast.
This was a treat...I had only slept
possibly two hours...and drove all night long to make it to this gig...and I may
have fallen asleep during the drive and gig...who knows...a natural high...sleep
deprivation.
I enjoy grooving with these two great
musicians.
We kept in traditional and had the party
joining in to sing along.
"Danny
Boy" was the highlight of it all.
I then had to journey to South Lamar here in South Austin
to participate in a charity event.

Austin, a great local charity that helps children.
Gary Feist, Arturo Montemayor and I were there to support Nicole as her band.
Philly a new friend of mine emailed me and I forwarded
the email to Nicole, etc....

actually listened...truly apprreciative crowd...I recommend this place to
all!
By the way, Maria, the
owner of this establishment, is a sweetheart!

Todd Phelps
performed this evening at a private weddding of Shanna and Erik down near
Cuero, Texas, in a traditional German Dance Hall.
Jeff Davis, Todd Truner, Matt Fleming and I were all there to share this crazy
evening with Todd.
Well,
first of all this drive down there was a sight to see winding through the hills
of Texas with the flowers in full bloom!...simply beautiful.
This German dance hall, wow...what a sight...it was a
hexagon..with a teepee like roof...all made of wood...a tinderbox...so, we did
not break out the pyros for the show...hahaha.
This was
a drunk fest...I have never meet so many Cuero natives in my life...
At the end of it all, I left town with Todd dressed as Elvis
Presley in a straw cowboy hat driving a riding lawn mower down Main Street to return Mary,
one of the bride's maids to her bed - n - breakfast...WOW!
Somethings are unbeleivable...if you beleive this, I got
some ocean front property in Arizona too...

Maxwell, Texas at the new, soon to be infamous tavern known as Hilltop Tavern.
J.C.George, Lars Albrecht and myself were all there to swing it
away with "Lost" John.
This
was a blast!
It is always a treat to swing the 'ol
traditional Texas Swing with these great musicians.
This
tavern is such a cool lil' place out in the middle of Nowhere...but believe me..it is worth the drive!...just
to see the sun set, right across the street, across the green fields of
Texas...wow!...what a sight!!!
Be sure you check this
place out if you are out on a Sunday drive and tell Shawn, the bartender, that I sent you.
"Lost" John will be back at
this tavern real soon...stay tuned!

for Austin...Live Music Capital of the World...

making our day go great.
It was cool having Rick Trevino there on front row sitting, enjoying

of her c.d.'s at this gig...amazing!

This is Kevin's
newest recording, his 4th solo album, 7th total...way to go dude!

This evening, Kevin had many

When I arrived to Nina Singh's hot seat, back
there behind her nice Fibes kit, Guy Forsyth, John "X" Reed, Lars
Albrecht, Will Sexton and I jammed
through a few tunes together...one by Lucinda Williams...a waltz...then we rocked into a
twisted Gerswhin, "Summertime"....then Kevin returned to the stage to rock out a Johnny Cash tune.
Of
course, the music was going all night long!
I was only
onstage for the three songs...which is more than fine with me...I had a blast
watching everyone else.
Chris Wall,
Kacey Crowley, Carrie
Minirth, Matt McCormack, Ryan
Carter, Craig Marshall, Cale Smith, J.T. Van Zandt, Bukka Allen, and so many more that I forget to name
them all...the place was packed with musicians there to check out Kevin.

We all three shared the task of playing the
guitar while Tish sang lead with Tony on backing vocals.
Thanks
goes out to Picasso's Radio for the invite to join and open the
show!
We all three had a blast playing an acoustic set
for this great cause.

SXSW!
3 Kisses performed this evening for the Austin Indie Alliance Showcase at Jakarta
Jack's.
The first set was an acoustic set
with Tish singing away while Tony and I played along on our acoustic guitars.
We then went to the other stage to perform full band.
Tish Meeks, Tony Meeks, David
James and I were all there to rock out a full set of songs for this
awesome crowd.
It was great having David, of the band Motionside, fill in for us
on the bass...he did a great job!
This evening was a
treat!
I enjoyed hearing so many local bands.
I also enjoyed getting to meet so many people.
Thanks goes out to Ben Mills of
the band Nooner, for letting me bang away on his drum set
this evening...he volunteered his kit to be the house kit for the event...what a
man!

SXSW!
Nicole Janson
performed this evening at the Flamingo
Cantina for the Austin American Statesman
Band Hotline Showcase.
Gary Feist, Arturo
Montemayor and I were there to support Nicole
for the event.
Nicole's lil'
brother, Erik Janson, also jumped onstage to play guitar on
a few tunes.
This was Nicole's first SXSW...and
she performed top notch!
There were many people there in
the crowd for this free, non-wristband, show.
Thanks
goes out to all those great folks that helped me with my gear...I appreciate
it!
Nooner
followed us next...it was great chatting with them all on the way out to my next
gig.
3 Kisses performed later this evening on the
north side at Graffiti's
for a showcase with Steve Syxx's Songwriters Showcase.
Tish Meeks, Tony Meeks and
myself were there to play a full set of original 3
Kisses tunes.
This was a great after party for a few
of my friends that were there in the small crowd.
I had
a great time this evening ...even when I had to get to the next stage in just a
few minutes...hurry...let's go...what a rush...it was all a blast!
March 7,
2004
Three of a Pair performed this afternoon at a private
party for a great group of people.
Marilyn Rucker, Gary Feist
and I were there to swing and jazz it up for two great long sets.
This was a great time playing for all the children in the
crowd.
I always have a blast playing music with these
two great musicians.

Kisses performed this evening at The Vibe on 6th St. in Austin.
Tish Meeks, Tony Meeks, Clint Raff and
I were there to rock out a full set of original tunes with one Beatles cover...Eight Days a Week...a classic.
It is always a pleasure to rock out with 3 Kisses.
A special thanks goes
out to Ben Mills, of the band Nooner, for lending me his drumset for the
gig..."house kit"...hahaha.
After the show I ventured on
over to Cafe Mundi to
see my great friend, Laura
Scarborough, perform this evening with her musical and artistic
friends.
Sage, the
fire-dancer, was fabulous to watch.
I was originally
there to meet with other friends...and was surprised to see that Laura was going to be performing.
This night was a load of fun!
February

It was a
treat getting to see and chat with my "Homeboy"..."Uncle" John Turner
before the evening began as we both loaded our drums into the club.
It is a honor to know John and
it is a pleasure to hang with him...just to hear all of his stories...WOW!
Thick-N-Muddy
performed this early afternoon down on 6th St.at Joe's Generic Bar for all the early party goers.
Thick, Muddy, and I were there to tear it up for a good hour
set.
I had a blast playing with these two great
musicians.
It was all off the cuff...no
rehearsals...exciting!
Actually, this was the first time
I ever played music with these two.
It was also the
"first" time we had ever met...maybe...no, I don't think so.
I hope to rock the blues with them again real soon.
I then had to journey westward down 6th St. to get to my
next gig with Nicole.
Nicole Janson
performed this evening at Momo's Club
this Saint Valentine's
night.
Gary Feist, Garrett Jamison and I were there to support Nicole for this one set gig.
It
was great having an early show, leaving the rest of the evening to party with so
many friends.
PRIMM and Patrice Pike both played a set each with their own
respectful band.
What a show!
Thanks goes out to Kyle for
letting me bang away on his drums.
It was great seeing
so many friends.
I chatted with Rick Holeman, Ray Prim, Patrice Pike, etc...the list goes on.
Speaking of, last evening, a Friday the 13th...what a trip.
I received an ivite from my great friend Casey Just to go down to the Saxon Pub for Omar & the
Howlers.
Two legendary drummers were there to
support Omar for the evening.
Barry "Frosty" Smith and Terry Bozzio...wow...what a treat!
I had the honor of meeting and chatting with Terry after the show.
To all of
our surprise, it was snowing as we all headed off into our different
directions.
Yes, snow in Austin.
What a trip...
February 3,
2004
Nicole Janson performed this evening at the Whiskey Bar on 5th St. here
in downtown Austin.
This was a great time after
all...this also being the first Tuesday night that we have played at this
club.
Arturo Montemayor and
I were there to support Nicole for the two sets of
original tunes.
There was not much of a crowd there but
a rather attentive one it was..
Thanks goes out to Nancy Sue for helping us out with getting all the P.A.
and gear set up in time.
Nicole looks forward to being back at this club real
soon.

3
Kisses performed this evening at the Vibe.
Tish Meeks, Tony Meeks, Scott Swanson
and I were all there to play a full set of 3 Kisses
original tunes.
This was a treat to once agin grace the
stage with these great people.
We played the final slot
this evening at the Vibe, which had plenty of bands to go around.
I did see a few people in the crowd as well.
The legendary Stephen Bruton
was there to check out the band in front of us.
It was
nice also having some of the people from Austin Indie Alliance there in the crowd as
well.
Stay tuned...3 Kisses
will be gracing a few stages during SXSW this year.
I will be heading into the studio with Tish and Tony this coming
weekend...I look forward to it.

3
Kisses performed this evening at Bigsby's for an Austin Indie
Alliance Show.
Tish
Meeks, Tony Meeks, Scott
Swanson and I were there to rock out a short 45 minute set of original tunes
with a couple of covers thrown into the mix as well.
This was Scott's first time to
perform with the band...and he did great.
Scott is also the President
of Austin Indie Alliance.
Martha Rose, BySaturday, Motionside were all on the bill as well.
This was a great time at this nice little place.
The sound was pretty good considering how small the stage
and setup really are in this club.
We made the best of
it!
Look for 3 Kisses to be
back real soon.

Nicole Janson performed this evening at The Vibe on 6th St. here in Austin.
Arturo Montemayor, Gary Feist and I were there with Miss Nicole for this short and sweet 45 minute set of
original tunes.
Ray Prim
opened the show in front of us.
Mo' Pair played in front of Ray.
There were two other bands
that I forget to name.
Overall, this was a great little
gig.
We all played inside considering how cold it was
here in Central Texas.
Look for Nicole to take some time away from this venue to work
over at the Whiskey Bar for her residency there.
I then went West down 6th St. to
play with the boys.
The Whiskey
Rebellion performed this late evening down at Bar
Austin.
Charlie
Harrison, Jason Vopni, Taylor Williams and I were there to twang it up for a
wee bit.
This is what we did...playing a variety of
original / cover tunes to this country loving crowd.
I
had the warmest spot in the house being right above the downstairs pizza
parlour's ovens.
Warmth!
It was
a cold 26* F. here in Austin this evening...break out the wool!
Oh no, I hope that drumstick that went through the flooring
did not land in any pizza...Drumstick Pizza, Please!...Anyone?
January 26,

3
Kisses performed this evening at The Vibe to a
very small cold crowd.
Tish
Meeks, Tony Meeks and I were there to rock out a
set of 3 Kisses original songs.
I really enjoy playing this pop rock.
The weather was a little chilly for all of us...in the high
20's F..
I had a great time warming up there onstage
under the lights.
Once again, I look forward to drumming
with this duo in the near future.
January 25,
2004
Nicole Janson performed this evening at the Whiskey Bar.
Arturo Montemayor, Gary Feist and I were there to support Nicole for this gig.
This is
turning into a regular gig for Nicole and the
band.
We enjoyed playing a full set of Nicole's original tunes for this partying crowd.
This was rather a strange start for the evening...it took a
while to fill the club...by the end, it was standing room only.
I then journeyed to Midnight
Rodeo to be a guest at the Gruene With Envy 2003
Music Awards.
This was a blast!
There were so many musicians and fans in the club.
I ran into so many friends and chatted with most of
them.
I also met alot of great people throughout the
evening.
The musicians that did perform were
excellent...as usual.
I saw so many faces...
Cory Morrow, Roger Creager, Chris Knight, Radney Foster, Jack Ingram, Jason Boland, Kevin Fowler, Wade Bowen, honeybrowne, Todd Phelps, Seth James, Matt Powell, Blue
Edmondson, Doug Moreland,
Charlie Harrison...and so many more that I forget to
name.
This was the place to be if you are into Texas
Country Music!
None of this would have been possible
without our great friend, Dave Lytle, and his crew
there at Gruene With Envy.

3
Kisses performed this evening at The Watertank here in North West Austin.
Tish Meeks, Tony Meeks, John and I were
all there to rock out for the evening.
This was the very
first time I had ever met Tish & Tony in person...in the flesh.
We had a blast.
It was pretty tight
considering...I guess everyone did their homework.
We
performed a full set of Tish & Tony's original music.
This was my first time to also ever
play with these two.
We had never rehearsed prior to
this!
So, this was all off the cuff...to say the
least.
I look forward to having another evening with
these two in the near future.
Oh yes, John was there to help out on the bass guitar for the
set as well.
He was just a fill in guy for the gig.
He also was reading charts and had never really heard the
tunes at all....once again...all off the cuff.
What a
night!
January 20,
2004
Nicole Janson performed this evening at The Vibe on
6th St. here in Austin.
Arturo
Montemayor was on the accordian and I was there with my acoustic guitar.
We were both there to assist Nicole in this short one hour set of original tunes.
Thanks goes out to Ray Prim and
Mo Pair for extending the invitation to play
following these two talented guys.
It was nice seeing a
few familiar faces in the house.
Although, it was also
real cool to have so many new faces there in the crowd.
We look forward to playing there again at this club real
soon.
January 18,
2004
Nicole Janson performed this evening at the Whiskey Bar here in Austin
on West 5th St..
The sticker night!..."everyone has a
sticker on."
Gary Feist, Arturo Montemayor and I were all there to support Nicole for the evening.
This
was a great night with an intimate crowd that was ready to get crazy!
We performed a full two hour set of Nicole's original songs.
Thanks
goes out to the staff at this great little club.
Nicole is excited about gaining a residency at this venue...the club is nice...I like the
red curtains...and the stage set up is cool.
I look
forward to next week's show...be there!
January 11,
2004
Nicole Janson performed this evening at Majic
95.5 FM Radio for the weekly Sunday night show, The Majic of Austin, hosted by Eric Leikam.
Arturo Montemayor, Gary
Feist and I were all there to support Nicole for
this brief little performance.
We performed two songs
live, on the air...You
Say & Fresh
Bruise.
Eric was a
great host for the evening.
By the way, he has a real
nice studio that he works in...I dig the purple sound foam all over the
walls...real cool...Purple Haze!
This was a great
time.
Nicole was happy to
receive the invite to play this show...and she had a blast...
A special thanks goes out to Eric for making it all cool.
