December 22, 2005
The Mercy Lords performed this evening at Momo's Club on West 6th St. in Austin.
Ricky Broussard, Tony Scalzo, Kevin Brown and I rocked out a sweet one hour set for this great crowd.
This was the first time in nine months that the guys had hit the stage.
It is a great honor to rock with these talented musicians.
I had a great time rocking out on my full drumset... I took the time to set it all up.
It turned out to be a great show.
Thanks to all of our friends that came out to support the band.
We truly appreciate it.
Thanks goes out to Barbara for helping the band.
Karissa and David were each there to capture the show with their cameras... we should have some pics posted soon.

Charlie Harrison performed this evening at Maggie Mae's for another wild night on 6ht St. in Austin, Texas.
Jason Vopni, Rick Redfern and I were there to support Charlie for the two hour set we played late this evening.
Drew Tichnell took the stage to perform three originals and even covered Led Zeppelin's "Rock-N-Roll".
It was a speical night for Drew since her parents were in the crowd there to see, for the first time, Drew rocking Austin.
I had a great time this evening.
This club has really turned the place around.
It was good to get back into the venue for a gig.
It had been a few years since I last played there with Dean Seltzer.
Charlie and Drew both hope to get back there to rock again.

Todd Phelps performed for a private party this evening in a big awesome tent in the back yard of this family's beautiful back yard next to the swimming pool on this cold ass night!
Todd Turner, Jason Vopni, Rick Redfern and I were there to perform acoustically for this Holy Day dinner.
Thanks to those that catered this event... the food was great!
I had a great time playing this evening... especially with Jason, since he brought his acoustic upright bass... which sounded great.
The other guys should have brought their acoustic guitars as well... but it overall was a really cool gig playing quitely for this great crowd.
The sing alongs were fabulous.
Thanks goes out to all of the guests vocalist, and tambourine and cowbell players.
The poems were also cool.
This was my first time and Todd's fourth consecutive year to play for this familiy's Holy Day parties.
What a great time!

"Lost" John Casner performed this evening at the Stardust in Manchaca.
It is always a cool thing to get "the call" from John.
J. C. George, Mike Lanskoop and I were there with John for this great evening of Texas Swing.
Cephas Wozencraft, Rick Redfern and ??? all took the stage for the second set, allowing time for a break for myself.
I always enjoy swinging the night away with John and his great musical friends.
I had a great time playing tunes with the guys tonight.

Charlie Harrison performed this evening at Latitude 30 for another wild crowd on this cold wild night.
Rick Redfern, Jason Vopni and I were there to rock out all night with Charlie.
Charlie and the rest of us took to the stage to jam and rock out two full sets of original and cover songs.
Drew Tichnell also joined us onstage to play a few of her original tunes.
It was a great night with plenty of dancers in this huge crowd.
Karissa was there to take pictures of the show and captured a few great ones, which includes the one shot that I am now using as the main image on the index page of this website.

Karissa loves the shot... because I am stting still while my hands are each in full blown motion... pretty cool...

Charlie Harrison performed this evening at the Blind Pig Pub here on 6th St. in Austin.
Rick Redfern, Jason Vopni and I were there with Charlie for the evening.
This was one of the wildest nights there on 6th St..
It was nice rocking out for this huge crowd up on the roof top of the Blind Pig Pub.
We even had Chad, a complete stranger, get up and lead us through two tunes while Charlie took a needed beer break.
Thanks goes out to the staff there at this great club for helping us with our gear and our beer.
This was like the post-game celebration since U. T. Longhorns destroyed the C. U. Buffaloes earlier in the day.
I hadd a great time rocking out for the crowd that was there to party.
I am sure that Charlie and the band will be back at this gret venue real soon.

Charlie Harrison performed this evening at the Firehouse Saloon in Houston.
Matt Fleming, Rick Redfern, Jason Vopni and I were there to rock this huge crowd with Charlie.
This was the pre-game bash, the night before U. T. Longhorns and C. U. Buffaloes played the Big 12 Conference Championship.
There were plenty of U. T. fans there in attendance at this great club.
It was nice meeting so many great people throughout the evening.
We enjoyed performing one full set of original and cover tunes.
Gary Kyle and his band followed with a great set of tunes.
King Cone and his band then closed out the evening with a great set of tunes.
A special thank you goes out to John of the King Cone Band for letting me bang away on his drums.
Overall, this was a great night of fun!

Alex Balentine, Jason Vopni and I were there to rock it with Charlie.
This place was packed with a huger crowd.
All the girls were there to dance, with or without the boys.

Robert Henry performed this early evening at the infamous venue known as Floore's Country Store in Helotes, Texas.
Rick Redfern, Joey Borja, Lou, Mike and I were all there to rock out with Robert.
This was a treat for us, since we were the opening act for the headliner, Jason Boland & the Stragglers.
I would like to thank Brad, the drummer for JB & S, for letting me bang away on his drums.
The night was filled with fun and the crowd was huge and responsive... it was a blast rocking out for these wonderful people.
Look for us to be back there real soon.
It was nice seeing radio personality Hank Moon once again, partying with us all backstage.
Hank is now running the brand new radio station 92.5 The Outlaw... it's about time we get some radio for the Texas Music Scene.

Charlie Harrison performed this humid, muggy evening at the Blind Pig Pub.
Jason Vopni, Todd Turner, Rick Refern and I were there to rock out with Charlie and this crazy large crowd.
Todd Phelps also joined us all onstage and even took the reins on a few of his tunes.
Overall, this evening was a blast!
It was nice having so many ladies dancing real close, u p-front, near the stage.
A special "Thanks!" goes out to Trent Tucker for helping me with all of my gear.
Of course, this evening was a madhouse on 6th St. considering the U.T. Longhorns beat the A.&M. Aggies in football!

Todd Phelps performed at high noon for a Private Event at Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Austin.
Todd Turner, Rick Redfern, Jason Vopni and I were there with Todd to play two full sets of original and cover tunes for this all ages crowd.
Rick and I then had to journey eastward to the next gig.
Robert Henry & The B-Team Band performed this evening at Rodney's New Traditions on the Lake next to Lake Livingston in Onalaska near Huntsville.
Joey Borja, Rick Redfern and I were there with Robert to enjoy two sets of original and cover tunes for this gerat crowd.
This new venue is great and is one the nicest places we have been to in a while... great staff!
Thanks to Jonna for making us feel soooooo at home... she treated us better than Beyonce... hahaha ... kidding... Beyonce, don't worry... just as good.
Jonna actually does manage Beyonce and Destiny's Child and Rodney's New Traditions... she's a busy gal.... great people.

We wanted to stay the night, but Rick and I had to get back to Austin.
I hope to get back to this club / restaurant / hotel / lake camp in the future... great time!

Robert Henry performed this evening at The Horseman Club in Fort Worth.
Joey Borja, Rick Redfern and I were there to rock with Robert.
Robert and the band opened the show for The Great Divide, a great band and a great group of guys.
A special thank you goes out to J.J., the drummer for The Great Divide, for letting me have the freedom to rock out on his drums.
We had a geat time performing for this crowd.
We would have stayed and partied, but Rick and I had to get going... back to Austin.

Jason Vopni, Matt Fleming and I were there to rock out with Charlie.
This was a great crazy night down on this infamous street since the Longhorns had won the football game earlier in the day... the streets were packed!
Matt had many of his hometown friends there at the gig.
Thanks goes out to all the ladies that were there dancing the night away.
Josh Davis of the Forty Thieves sat in for a few tunes and even took the lead vocal and guitar on a great blues tune.
I had a blast rocking out with the guys tonight!

Todd Phelps performed this evening at Wild West in Lubbock.
Todd Turner, Jason Vopni and I were there with Todd for this great rocking gig.
We enjoyed playing a full set of original and cover tunes for this small crowd... it's about the quality not the quantity.
This was a special evening for the United States Marine Corp... a 2oo plus year old tradition... and many of the Marines were there with their dates all dressed in full formal gowns and full military formals... a realy cool site to see.
Thanks goes out to the three ladies that were there to sale the merch and take pictures for the website... Miss Lyndsey, Miss Kee Leigh and Miss Kate Lynn... the local Texas Tech gals.
Thanks goes out to Frank and James with Tumbleweed Sound for being the coolest soundmen around Texas.
These two guys gave the band an incrediblly huge sound.
I loved the sound of my kick drum all night long!

We enjoyed playing to this crowd that was downtown to party.
Drew Tichnell stopped by to sit in while Charlie took a break.
Drew performed three off her original tunes with the band backing her up.

Todd Phelps played a full set this evening out under the stars at the County Line in San Antonio.
Jeff Davis, Rick Redfern and I were there with Todd for the event.
This event was co-sponsored by KJ97 FM.
It was cool having Hank, the radio personality that was there to party and there to introduce the band before we hit the stage.
Thanks to the special friends that made the journey to see the show... I appreciate it!
This was a great gig that also ended early turning the drive back to Austin an easy breeze.
Randy hopes to bring us back there to his nice restaurant / bar / venue there on I-10 in San Antonio.
I look forward to it... the food was good.

Robert Henry & The B-Team Band performed this evening at Urban Cowboy's off of Lower Greenville in Dallas.
Joey Borja, Rick Redfern and I were there to support Robert for this crazy gig!
This was a private event hosted by the Chi Omega Sorority of SMU.
Let's just say this was a packed house and a wild party.
It is really nice to play in front of such an enthusiaistic crowd as attentive and large as this one was this night.
We hope to be back there in Big D real soon for more gigs.

this evening.

First, we
rocked out on 6th St. at the Dizzy Rooster for the early partiers and post U.T. Football attendees.
It was
a wild start for this crazy evening.
We enjoyed playing
a full set of original and cover tunes.
Charlie and the band then made
the journey northward to the campus area and were there to rock for a private
party... a Frat Bash.
This one was WILD!
We ended up rocking a full set in their barn waking the
neighbors and getting the police involved.
We then set
up inside the house to rock until 4 a.m.!
Wow!
I was beat and tired after drumming for 5 hours or so...
I didn't "hit the sack" until 5: 30 a.m.!
What a day!

Cosmic Dust Devils rocked out this evening at the
Back Porch
Bar on the coast at Port Aransas.
Barbara Malteze, Kevin
Higgins, John Fannin, Jason Vopni and I were there at this great beachside
venue for a wild evening.
We enjoyed playing two full
sets of original and cover tunes.
This was the first
time that Jason and I had ever played out live with
these great musicians.
It was a pleasure to rehearse
twice with the band to only fly off the cuff during the show.
I know I had a great time!
Jerry Diaz and his band opened the hsow.
What a small world... Bud Byram
a friend of mine from Port Arthur was on percussion with Jerry.
I have known Bud and his lady friend Janice for 15 years or so.
Bud has a set of twin boys, Clint and Brad... both
great friends of mine as well.
Brad, plays bass for the Austin Rock band Canvas.
It was really a
great evening down on the Gulf coast.

Chelle Murrey performed today at Hills Cafe for a benefit for the Hurricane
Relief Fund.
Gary Feist, Paul Martinez and I were there with Chelle for this great cause.
There were many other musicians playing throughout the day
at this great little restaurant.
Casey McPherson Band, Texas Renegade
Band, Melody Mann, Haydn Vitera, Monte Warden as well as many other Artists were
there to perform.
It was a great day under the hot sun!
We all then chilled for a bit before we headed to the
next gig.
Chelle Murrey performed late this evening at the
infamous Hole in the
Wall.
Chelle, Paul, Gary and I had a
great time rocking out at this infamous club.
A special

This was Chellle's first time
to ever play this venue.
She truly performed one of her
best shows ever.

audience that loved Chelle.

We set up inside this lil' bar under the stairs right in
front of the bar and rocked out a full crazy set of cover / original tunes.
Let's just say that Rick and I
had the (upskirt) view all night long... with the stairs right above us.
There were so many hot gals and guys... literally... the
air conditioning was not on or not working and it was really hot!
How about that one girl that got pissed off and stormed out
of the club because we played that silly cover song again... "... in the
butt!".

Wall this evening to rock out a full set of famous cover tunes.
We were there to play a rocking set following the Hole in the
Wall's Wall of Fame
Induction.
There were alot of people there to
celebrate with all of the inductees.
It was great
rocking for this great crowd!
I want to thank everyone
that bought me all the beer!
I
then made the journey up the drag to that famous little pool hall Nasty's.
Chelle Murrey performed a full set of original and
covers tunes for this partying crowd.
Paul Martinez, Gary Fesit
and I were there with Chelle for this late night
gig.
We had a funtime acting silly and goofy in front of
this attentive audience.
We appreciate all of our
friends coming out to support local live music.
It is a
pleasure to play music for music lovers.
Believe me, a
musician can feel the energy from the listening audience... it is a mutual
experience.
I felt a few chills run up and down my
spine... true!

"Lost" John Casner performed this evening at the Stardust club in Manchaca,
Texas... just south of Austin.
Jim Lutz, J.C. George and I
were there to support John for the 3 set gig.
This was a great time playing for all of the great
dancers.
It is such a pleasure to play music for people
twice your age... and to have them tell you how much it means to them.
The elders were out in full force dancing to the
traditional country and western swing that we enjoy playing.

playing a full long set of covers with a few of Todd's original tunes thrown into the mix.
This was our first time to play this great club.
It was also the official after-party for Robert Earl Keen's Texas
Uprising Concert.
I chose not to go to the R.E.K. Texas Uprising concert and hit the beach
instead!
Nothing against the concert... but, I never get
to see the beach... and I do miss it.
I get to see these
bands and party with the members of each band pretty often... hahaha... I needed
my nature "fix".
I had a great time rocking out at this
club.
The crowd was very enthusiastic as well... I think
we will be back real soon.

putting the T.P.B. up for the weekend in his nice

This event was hosted
by my great friend, Donna, and her great clothing
store Denim Edge.

We played a short sweet little set of Heather's tunes.
It was a great
performance for this crowd that was showing up to party.
Chelle Murrey performed next for the growing
crowd.

We played a full set of Chelle's orignal tunes and even threw in a cover of "Time After Time" written
by Cyndi Lauper & Rob

PRIMM performed this evening at the Lucky
Lounge on 5th St. in downtown Austin.
Ray, Mike, Gary, Tate and I were there
to play a full long set of original tunes for this great crowd.
This was my first time to ever play with the band... no
rehearsal as well... and it went over pretty well.
It is
a treat to play with a horn section... I never get to do this.
I am happy to be able to fill in for Ray and the guys.
Hopefully I
can do it again real soon.

The Eggmen, the infamous
Beatles tribute band, was there before us playing
those classic tunes by the four lads from Liverpool.

guys in this tribute band were great... they had every little bell and whistle
going on... really cool.. and they did a great job interpreting all of those
classic Beatles tunes that we all know and cherish..

One cover tune was thrown
into the mix... a David Bowie tune.

Hotel here in Austin.
This was a U.T. Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority Formal and all the gals a
guys were in their best attire.
We rocked out a full
long set of orignal and cover tunes for this crazy crowd... they were all
dancing and having a great time.
We were there to rock
and this is what we did... we even burned up one of the main p.a. amps.
We readjusted the situation of the amps and fired it all
back up to finish the night.

Tonight, was a blast!
First off, this is a hoot... and everyone is there to play
Dylan tunes.
I hit the stage
around 9 p.m. with Kevin Brown, John "X"
Reed, Will Sexton, and Matt Hubbard.
We jammed, or
should I say "Rocked!", through 6 tunes receiving a great repsonse from the
crowd.
It is a treat playing music with these talented
individuals.
After this set, I was then asked to drum
for another.
Michael Fracasso, Will
Sexton, John "X" Reed, Matt Hubbard and I played 4 tunes.
This was another incredible performance with Michael's sweet high alto-like voice.
Wow!
What
a way to end a SXSW weekend... those hoot nights!
I saw so many friends, fellow musicians.
I even met alot of nice people who were all complimentary
buying me those beers.

It was a great time seeing the older folk with all the cool
moves while the younger ones were trying to imitate it all.
Playing music with these great musicians is a blast!
I was called out at the last minute, since John's other drummer could not make the show.
It is a treat to play with John

Let me tell you how hard it was to play in
this cold weather.
It was in the low 40's with wind
gusts bringing the wind chill much lower... but, we rocked anyway.
All of the Lady Wranglers were

All of the football coaches and players
were also there partying down with a whole bunch of Mardi Gras beads.

Casey Just performed this evening at Headhunter's here in Austin.
Gary Feist and I were there
with Casey to rock out a sweet short set of original
tunes from Case's new c.d..
Thanks goes out to Houston, the
soundman, for getting the sound tweaked for all to enjoy.
This was a wild crowd.
It was great
getting a great response from the listeners.
It was a
great time meeting all the people there in the club.
Once again, it is always a treat to rock out with these
great guys!

Chelle Murrey performed this evening for the weekly
Chicks with Picks musical series.
Paul Martinez, Gary Feist and I were there to play an acoustic set of
Chelle's original tunes.
We
started the evening by performing a great set.
Beth Garner hit the stage next as a power blues
rock trio.
Aimee Bobruk
closed out this evening's Chicks with Picks.
It was truly another great weekly show.

"Lost" John Casner perfromed this evening at Cedar's out west in
Spicewood.
Jim Lutz, Karen Heine, Bobby Snell
and I were all there with John for this great
evening.
It is always a treat to swing the night away
with these great musicians.
The crowd was small at the
club, but it was quality... great dancers.

The Mersey Lords performed this evening at Ego's here in Austin on
South Congress Ave.
Ricky
Broussard, Tony Scalzo, Kevin Brown and I were there to play a short, sweet
little set of tunes for this great crowd.
This evening
was super special since it was also Ricky's birthday
party and rocking celebration.
Thanks goes out to Diane for lining up the party... the cake was great!
There were so many musicians there in the club the entire
evening.
I would like to send a special thank you to Lisa Pankratz for letting me bang away on her skins...
it has been fun!

WEEdEN performed this evening at the infamous Antone's here in Austin.
Alex Weeden, Chris Kline, Jake Blackwell
and I were there to open the show with a rocking kicking electrical set of
original tunes with two covers thrown in... one of the Replacements and another by David Bowie.
This was a great
gig... one of our more rocking ones!
Rock Bottom Choir closed out the show with a great
set of their new album which was also made it's debut this evening.
Thanks goes out to Barry... the
man with the plan up there in the nosebleeds on the soundboard... ROCK!

performed first this evening with her bass and guitar players as an acoustic
trio.
We then hit the stage to perform our set.

Suzanna
Choffel and her band hit the stage next... I actually know her druumer,
James, from the local music stores.
It was then our turn to turn up the volume to rock out to
this great small crowd.
Warren Hood &
the Hoodlums were next with their traditional
bluegrass pickin'.. and they really aare a treat to watch.
Brewster
McKracken closed out the evening.
This was
another great night here in hot Texas... is it January... sure doesn't feel likt
it!
